John welcomes Evelyne Decorps, the Consul General of France, to the British Columbia Legislature. Ms. Decorps is a career senior officer with the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs, and assumed her duties as Consul General in Vancouver on September 1st, 2011.

The 2011 Grey Cup winners brought the trophy to the provincial legislature, where John and other BC Liberal MLAs congratulated them on their 34 to 23 victory over the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. This is the first time the BC Lions have won the Grey Cup at home since 1994.
John welcomes U.S. Consul General Anne Callaghan to the British Columbia Legislature. The Consul General was in Victoria to take part in the Pacific NorthWest Economic Region 2011 winter meeting.
John joins Premier Christy Clark and Minister Naomi Yamamoto in hosting a meeting of the Consular Corps of British Columbia. The Consular Corps, based mainly in Vancouver, is the official body comprising all Consular Officers residing in the Province of British Columbia. There are 82 countries represented in the group.

John joins Chilliwack MLA Barry Penner and Health Minister Michael de Jong in officially opening Cedar Ridge, a brand new 20-bed mental health facility. At a cost of $2.7 million, Cedar Ridge will provide care for adults with complex mental health illnesses who need highly specialized care.

Chilliwack MLA John Les joins Premier Christy Clark in welcoming Gyeonggi Provincial Governor KIM Moon-Soo and a Korean delegation to Vancouver, where the Premier declared April 18th "Gyeonggi Day" in B.C. Korea shares a strong trade relationship with the province, totalling billions of dollars annually. Gyeonggi is the sister province to B.C., and is the Republic of Korea's most populous province. It is the country's fastest growing economy and home to world-leading companies like Samsung, Hyundai-Kia and LG.
John joins Aboriginal Relations and Reconciliation Minister Mary Polak, Attorney General Barry Penner, Tyrone O'Neill and Seabird Island First Nation Chief Clem Seymour for the signing of a new forestry agreement. Seabird Island Indian Band's new Forestry Consultation and Revenue Sharing Agreement will directly benefit the community's social and economic development, and allow them to build on their forestry business.
John attends the annual Francophonie Day celebration, presenting Therese Côté with a commemorative plaque which recognizes the Côté family's contribution to Victoria's francophone community.
