| June 17, 2010 HST Seminar: Get the Facts on June 21 HOPE- Canada Revenue Agency will be hosting an informative seminar to make sure local businesses get the facts on B.C.’s Harmonized Sales Tax which will take effect on July 1 of this year. “It’s an opportunity for businesses that create local jobs, and anyone else interested in knowing the real facts about the HST,” says Chilliwack-Hope MLA Barry Penner. “Employers will benefit from the HST as it will reduce the cost of investing in new equipment by eliminating the PST and it will reduce the paperwork burden that came with two different sales taxes.” “There’s a lot of misinformation being spread and it is important for everyone to learn the facts,” says Chilliwack MLA John Les. “These seminars are geared at anyone who may have concerns or would just like to learn more about how the HST will affect them.” The information seminar is set to take place at the Chilliwack Library on Monday June 21 from 1pm – 3pm. Space is limited and registration is required. To register, call (604) 792-1941. To learn more about the HST and how it will benefit you, visit http://hst.blog.gov.bc.ca/. -30- | |
